Jim founded Parallel in 2011 as part of the Fidelius Group, a financial services company that provides expertise in wealth management, employee benefits as well as investment management.
In a career spanning over three decades, Jim has developed a number of highly successful independent financial planning businesses, including the Chartwell Group which was acquired by Close Brothers Asset Management in 2010.
Rebecca is responsible for Parallel’s research team and focuses on the identification and selection of the collective investment funds within the Parallel portfolios, using quantitative and qualitative analysis.
After graduating with a degree in Economics from Cardiff University in 2004, Rebecca began her career with Sanlam Private Wealth as an Investment Manager, before moving to Belgrave Asset Management in 2010 and subsequently joining the Parallel team in 2012.
Rebecca is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and holds the Securities Institute Diploma as well as the Investment Management Certificate.
Mark brings more than 30 years’ investment experience to Parallel, managing our investment team and chairing the Investment Committee, as well as directing our investment strategy and research capabilities.
Mark joined Parallel as CIO in 2014 following a successful career with Chase de Vere Investments plc, the Chartwell Group and Close Brothers Asset Management.
As a member of the Parallel research team, Samantha is responsible for the ongoing monitoring of the underlying collective investments within the Parallel models as well as the identification of prospective investment opportunities.
After graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Finance and Economics, Samantha commenced her investment career as an Assistant Portfolio Manager at Hottinger & Company, London before joining the Parallel team in 2016.
Samantha is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment, holds the Investment Management Certificate and Investment Advice Diploma, and is currently studying towards the Chartered Wealth Manager qualification.
Following experience gained in the client services administration team with investment trading platform provider, Novia Financial plc, Laura joined Parallel in 2013 bringing with her a wealth of trade execution to the team. However, Laura’s interest in investment management has encouraged her to pursue a career in investment research.
Within Parallel’s research team, Laura focuses her analysis on fund selection, performance attribution, and asset allocation.
Laura graduated from the University of Bristol in 2010 with a degree in Accounting and Finance and holds the Investment Management Certificate.
A former managing director in the Global Equities Division at Nomura, Matthew has over 25 years’ experience in portfolio and risk management in Securities and Derivative products.
Matthew has been involved with Parallel from its creation in 2011 and is a key member of both the Asset Allocation and Investment Committees. He holds a First Class Honours’ degree in Economics from Loughborough University, and a Masters’ degree in Finance from Cambridge University.
Henry joined Parallel in 2018 following his graduation from the University of Plymouth with an Honours degree in Mathematics.
Within the Parallel team, Henry’s primary responsibilities are the monitoring and control of the Parallel portfolios on the various investment trading platforms employed, together with the generation of performance data for analysis.
Andrew has over 29 years’ experience in investment management and distribution, specialising in the construction and delivery of investment solutions for professional clients.
Andrew was previously Head of Strategic Distribution and Investment Solutions for Sarasin & Partners following successful careers with Morley Fund Management (now Aviva Investors), Legal & General and Scottish Equitable.
